Since I became aware of the impact humans have on our planet, I have been striving to reduce my carbon footprint as much as possible. I became a vegetarian at 23 and have never looked back on that decision. I also traded my car for a bicycle, forcing myself to rely on public transportation or my own strength for travel.
Now, I'm working to have a positive impact on the planet through technology. I understand that my field is not inherently ecological, but I am realistic about how people work and what they need. That's why I aim to make a difference in this industry. I truly believe that change is possible, and Up4it is one example of that vision in action.
I strive to put people at the center of my focus. I once struggled with social anxiety but overcame it over the years, now drawing energy from the people around me. I sincerely hope that anyone still experiencing this today will also find a way to overcome it, and will do my best to help them.
I believe that deep down, everyone is inherently kind, but life's challenges sometimes force them to act otherwise. That's why I strongly believe we can help people become happier with the right use of technology.
While much of today's software contributes to social isolation, I firmly believe that technology can achieve the opposite. But for that to happen, we must be driven by the goal of creating a better world—not just by profit.
I have big dreams, but I also recognize that they can only come true if they are sustainable within our current economic system. That's why I am not against using dark patterns, as long as they genuinely serve the well-being of those I target.
I also understand that for a company to make a real impact, it must be financially viable. This is why I collaborate with others on their projects—but only when their vision aligns with mine.
At the same time, I won't slow down my progress for purely ecological reasons. This means I will use AI even if it's not environmentally friendly, as long as it helps me achieve my goals faster. I believe that making a small negative impact today can create opportunities for a much greater positive impact in the long run.
